Now I begin.

I think this is both a beautifully simple and wonderfully complex statement. It's one that, admittedly, I know only from Instagram. I've seen it on mugs and t-shirts, read it in inspirational posts, and heard it in interviews. Despite stumbling upon it in this rather, well, pedestrian way, there's just something about it that seems to touch my heart in a deeply hopeful way--the purpose to begin again, to renew, to refresh spiritually.

And that's where we are now. Classes begin this Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and how lovely it will be to see each other with refreshed spirits and to have the opportunity to pick up and begin again with our weekly classes and program. With our year almost half-way over, it seems quite a gift to have this chance to approach all of our routines and habits with renewal. 

Join us this Sunday at 9:15 a.m. to pray the Rosary in St. Barbora's Chapel. Pope Leo XIV has just invited us this week, in fact called us, to pray with him this month...he'll be praying for us! Despite the challenges that we meet arriving to the church so early on a Sunday morning, from our own personal family experience, beginning our Sunday mornings at St. Thomas with the Rosary before moving on to class is powerful. Not only does it provide a way to invite our kids into prayer and to learn the prayers so well by their simple repetition, praying together as a family of faith strengthens us all by recollecting the love of Jesus for us, connecting us to Him and to His mother, and lifting up our intentions and prayers.

In the coming months, we will be encountering Jesus in special ways in class as well as in family prayer gatherings --we are looking forward to inviting you all into those experiences.

Please remember that class begins every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and make sure to let your catechist know if you will not attend.
